Zoning and Building Permits
Zoning Permit procedure. Borough zoning regulations place various restrictions on the use of property and the location of all improvements and additions on the property. If you are considering any new construction, a structural alteration, or an addition, please call the Boroughs Zoning Administrator, or Call the Borough Office at 796-4709 before you make any commitments to a contractor or home improvement company.
Examples of when a Zoning Permit is required for, but not limited to, are:
1. Utility sheds, garages, signs or other accessory structures separate from the main building.
2. Building demolition, additions, and renovations of any structure on the property.
3. Additional parking, driveways, sidewalks, patios, porches, decks, swimming pools, etc.
4. Fencing and other such shielding effects.
Completely fill out the Zoning permit Application and include applicable fee. (Incomplete applications will be returned) Once the completed application and fee is received by the Borough Secretary, the Zoning Administrator will contact applicant and visit the property. The Zoning Administrator will approve or disapprove the application in accordance with the Borough’s Zoning Ordinance and other applicable Borough Ordinances. The permit will be mailed to the applicant upon approval, usually within three (3) working days. Please call the Borough Secretary or the Zoning Administrator with any questions you may have concerning your project.

Waterford Borough administers and enforces Pennsylvania’s statewide building code generally known as the Uniform Construction Code (UCC) through a State Certified Third Party Agency Building Inspection Underwriters of PA, Inc.
